I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona where I began my career in art. The stark desert landscape with the imposing figures of cactus and large mountains were part of my early years.

My formal art training began at Santa Clara University in California. After college I went to work in the computer industry but continued to attend drawing courses. Spending countless hours at the museums sketching.

In 2000 I attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I studied drawing, painting and architecture. My second semester was spent in London, England where I had the chance to visit museums of Europe for the first time.

In 2001, I enrolled in a masters of architecture program at Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

After graduating from Virginia Tech in June 2005 I was invited back to teach drawing to architecture students. I continued to study painting and began formal training in carving and sculpture here in New England.

From 2011 until 2021 I taught graphic design and photography at Tucson High School and then at Sabino High School
I currently work free lance and I help to homeschool and raise 6 children with my wife Jackie.
